It is good to have a blog but the problem is how to get more visitors to the blog. Given that there are more than 4 billion active social media users globally, it is essential to use social platforms to promote your blog. Below are 10 of the most effective ways of sharing your blog on social media platforms.

1. Share Your New Posts

The first and which is also rather obvious is the tactic of sharing each new blog post that you have published on your profiles in social networks. This shares your content with your existing social followers many of whom should be in your target market. Share content on all the social platforms you are active in, and ensure to provide links that direct traffic to your site.

Timing social sharing is also important to be automated when the content is published. WordPress, for example, offers plugins that enable auto-sharing of published posts on social media platforms. Hootsuite, Buffer and other social media management tools also have the scheduling features.

2. Use Visual Content

A post that contains graphics such as images, infographics, videos, and more will attract more attention to social media compared to one that contains simple text. While sharing the contents, add attractive images, use videos or any other items that will enhance the appearance of the blog posts. Canva and Biteable are two popular online applications for creating beautiful social media content images and short, animated videos.

3. Engage With Your Audience

Social media is intrinsically social, which means that it is not only good to share your content but also reply to other people. Engage with your audience who puts comments and questions to your updates, even if it is just to like a comment. Use questions to elicit a discussion about your posts. Interacting with the community public assists in developing relationship and a community around the brand.

4. Use Hashtags Strategically

The use of popular hashtags enhances the chances of your content to be seen in the feeds of social media platforms. To help me track the progress and get more people to see my posts, write 5-10 hashtags that you can use while sharing the links to your blog posts. It is always good to search for hashtags to check if there is any activity and posts for the one you want to use all the time. You can also try to come up with your own branded hashtag that readers can use when talking about your blog.

5. Share Other Helpful Content

It is okay to repost your own content, but adding other useful and engaging articles makes the feed more credible and shows that you want to offer the readers something useful. For instance, if you create a blog on “Expert Tips for Better Smartphone Photography,” you could share other photography tips from other experts in the same niche.

6. Share Blog Content Several Times

Yes, blogging is about creating content and sharing it once or twice but it is not the end of the process. Further, reprint old blog content on your social pages but make this a sporadic activity. Social algorithms tend to work best if there are new pieces to share, so you have to repost pieces several times to make sure they will get the attention they deserve.

7. Run Social Media Giveaways

Promotions/Giveaways, contests and sweepstakes are very powerful ways of increasing social engagement. Promote gifts that your niche will find entertaining and would love to receive such as gift cards, ebooks, online courses, or merchandise. In the rules of the giveaway, ask your followers to like, comment or share the post. Perhaps you should ask them to visit your blog too. Ensure that the entry rules are clearly stated and legally worded where promotions are conducted.

8. Collaborate With Niche Influencers

Look for people who share your market niche or audience and create content within your industry. Send an email to inquire about writing a guest post, highlighting a blog post in exchange with getting a promotion on their site, interviewing for their blog or any other partnership idea. The combined exposure can help you get many new potential readers aware of your brand.

9. Use Paid Social Ads

Although you can achieve reasonable organic engagement by employing the right tactics on a regular basis, paid social boosts your achievements significantly. Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn all have incredibly strong ad spaces where you can target your content to very specific audiences. You can cheaply direct specific website traffic to blog posts and get more subscribers in your email list. Try each of the platforms and determine their effectiveness.

10. Analyze Metrics and Optimize

This is especially crucial for monitoring which efforts are actually paying off in relation to driving traffic and follows compared to which ones are not. Sprout Social and Hootsuite are some of the items that give you the best way of determining your best posts. Discover when your visitors are active, which tags are more effective, or what kind of visuals your audience prefers. However, if these strategies are working for you, then redouble your efforts and keep on experimenting.

It is important to note that the promotion of your blog on social requires both time, creativity and the ability to adapt. It’s not going to be possible to get every piece of content reach millions of people overnight and that is perfectly alright; So long as you maintain a steady long-term strategy where you alternate between using organic and paid tactics, you will continue to expand your readership, your social followers and your blog subscribers. It is especially important to remain a useful resource to your viewers instead of being primarily self-serving. With such a social goodwill, your blogging can reap huge benefits in the long run.
